How to appreciate Chinese contemporary art? Who are the current top artists and rising stars? What are the strategies of buying Chinese artworks? Led by renowned academics, curators, and market specialists, Chinese Contemporary Art and the Market will investigate these topics.

From the 1979 ‘Open Door Policy’, which triggered the birth of Chinese Contemporary Art, to the development of the contemporary art scene within Greater China area in the following three decades, the course will explore how key artists and their works evolved amidst drastic political and economic changes, and further discuss the connections between the artists, history, and the market.

After the six sessions which cover the historical context, major artworks, and the market, the programme will end with an exclusive Central Gallery Crawl where participants will visit international blue chip galleries with the art expert.
